What is Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi?
The government of Telangana state has launched the scheme to encourage inter-caste marriages among the citizens of Telangana. The state government will provide financial assistance of around Rs 1 lakh to all the citizens selected under Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam. All the permanent residents of the state who have crossed the age of 18 years will be eligible to avail the Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam. With the help of this scheme, the citizens of Telangana state can comfortably perform marriage without worrying about the financial troubles, and the financial assistance will be deposited into the bank account of the bride’s mother by the Telangana state authority.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Telangana state to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- The age of the applicant must be 18+ years.
- The annual income of the family of the applicant belonging to the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste or Other Backward Class category should not exceed Rs 2 lakh.
- Applicants who belong to OBC and BC category but live in rural areas should not have an annual income of more than Rs 1.5 lakh.
Objective of Kalyana Lakshmi Yojana
The objective of Kalyana Lakshmi Yojana is to provide financial assistance to newly married brides belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and minority families. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be deposited in the bank account of the bride’s mother at the time of her marriage. This scheme will also stop underage marriages and will also increase the literacy rate among girls because only those unmarried girls who have attained the age of 18 years or more can apply for this scheme. This scheme will also make women empowered and financially independent.
Incentives under the scheme
You should know that till the year 2020, many incentives are provided under both the components of Kalyan Lakshmi Yojana such as:-
- When this scheme was launched in 2014, an amount of Rs 51,000 was provided by the government.
- In 2017, an amount of Rs 75,116 was provided by the government.
- In the year 2018, an amount of Rs 1,00,116 was provided by the government.

- All the applicants who have applied for the scheme can now check Kalyan Lakshmi status online by visiting the official website of Kalyan Lakshmi.
- When the applicant reaches the home page of the official website, he has to click on the print or status option.
- A new page will appear on your screen, the applicant has to enter all the details, like the bride’s UID (Aadhaar) number and phone number.
- After entering all the details, the applicant has to quickly review it and click on the get status option to complete his process.
