Eligibility Criteria

Any woman who proposes to get married can apply in this scheme if her application fulfils the following benefits:-

  • She has attained the age of 18 years and is unmarried on the date of submitting her application.
  • The proposed marriage is her first marriage.
  • She was born in West Bengal or she has been a resident of WB for the last 5 years or her parents are permanent residents of West Bengal.
  • Her family income does not exceed Rs.1.50 lakh per annum.
  • Her god has attained the age of 21 years.
  • The beneficiary has an active bank account of which she is the sole account holder.
  • The bank account should be in a bank which has an IFSC code and a MICR code and the transaction period is NEFT irrespective of the age of the girl child.

  • To ensure that girls stay in school and remain so till at least the age of 18 years at their marriage.
  • Motivate girls to complete secondary or senior secondary education or equivalent in technical courses.

  • Proof of Age of the Spouse: Self-attested photo-copy of any one of the following: Birth Certificate/ Voter ID Card/ PAN Card/ Secondary Admission Card/ Aadhar Card/ Primary School Leave Certificate.
  • Never-Married Status: Self-declaration on the application form.
  • Family Income: Self-declaration certified by a competent proof.
  • Proof of Residence: Self-declaration certified by a competent proof.
  • Bank Account: Self-attested photo-copy of the page of the bank book which provides complete information of the account holder’s name, account number, bank address, real code and other work.
  • Proof of Proposed Marriage: Any one of the following: Marriage Registration Card/ Notice for Marriage Registration.
  • Proof of Age of learned Spouse: Photocopy of any one of the following: Birth Certificate/ Public Identity Card/ PAN Card/ Secondary Card/ Aadhar Card/ Primary School Leave Certificate (attested by the prospective husband).
